Leading The Way In Sunday Football
This trophy was introduced by the Nene Valley League in the 1993-94 season to honour Alan Dimmer, a Spencer WMC player who died tragically after complications to a leg break. His wife and daughter would attend and present the trophy to the winning team.
Greens Norton FC won the trophy during the inaugural season, defeating Artizan Football Club on a penalty shootout 4-3 after the teams fought out a 1-1 draw. Greens Norton retained the trophy for the following two seasons, beating Northampton Bedrooms 2 - 0 in 1995 and Budget RAC 2 - 1 in the 1996 final.
The Alan Dimmer trophy is now a competition contested by teams from the Nene Sunday League Division Two.
